Despite considerable achievements in the reduction of poverty over the last decades, poverty remains conspicuously high and profound in Africa. We at Thorn Relief are currently looking at ways we can help fight poverty across Africa and we have teamed up with schools and organizations in deferent locations to help us. Although our efforts have be focused in the rural locations in countries like Zimbabwe, we do acknowledge that there is also a hug number of families living in poverty in the urban areas across Africa and we are yet to find a way we can assist this group.
Reducing rural poverty: The studies from across Africa and Thorn Relief observations agree that to reduce rural poverty, community-level policies are needed. Improving access to electricity, sanitation facilities and clean water are highlighted as key infrastructure developments that can help reduce asset and health poverty.
